The SIAL Global Network, one of the world's most influential food and beverage exhibition brands - will be back in China in October 2021. In the post-COVID-19 era, following the success of SIAL China, one of the top three food and beverage professional showcases worldwide, the world-renowned SIAL China series is set to “impress the second time around” in China during 28-30 October in Shenzhen, as SIAL China South makes its "world debut".
Mr. Nicolas Trentesaux, CEO of SIAL Global Network, explained that "SIAL" is a French acronym meaning "International Food Exhibition". As the name suggests, the trade shows are inherently international in nature. Recently, the recurrent waves of COVID-19 pandemic bring great uncertainty to the global economic recovery and the direction of the global market. The fact that SIAL China South is to take place in China in 2021 fully demonstrates the great confidence of the global food and beverage industry in the Chinese economy and market.
The SIAL Global Network organised trade fairs annually in Shanghai, Paris, Montreal, Toronto, Abu Dhabi, New Delhi, Jakarta and other cities worldwide. The event has become an important platform for numerous food and beverage companies around the world to express their voices and show their values. In 2021, two world-class exhibitions of the SIAL Global Network, namely SIAL China and SIAL China South, will take root in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, the economic highlands of China. With an exhibition area of 40,000 sqm, SIAL China South offers nine exhibition zones including snack food, comprehensive food import, agricultural products, meat and frozen products, convenient food, grain and condiments, health food, dairy products, high-end beverages and government delegations. It expects to attract 650 exhibitors and over 65,000 professionals from around the world.
The SIAL World Food Industry Summit will take place in parallel to the trade show under the theme of "Integrating Change - A Global Smart Chain for Joint Planning and Win-Win Collaboration". The Global New Retail Summit, Food Supply Chain Forum, Smart Agri-Food Summit and International Drink Summit are among the concurrent events of SIAL China South. Guests from all over the world will conduct in-depth discussions on the topics of "new technologies and business integration", "global supply chain and new food economy", "new retail and ecosystem", "technological empowerment and value reshaping". The show will also host the SIAL Innovation, New Drink Making Contest, Livestreaming and Snack Online Carnival.
Mr. Trentesaux mentioned that the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area is a world-class bay area that not only has a strong industrial base, but also implements China's modernisation concept. SIAL China South chooses Shenzhen as its venue and provides a window for the world to get to know China. Professionals from all over the world will be able to get a feel for China and understand it better through the exhibition. SIAL China South will become another world-class platform for the global food and beverage industry to communicate in an Eastern context. So far, international pavilions from the USA, France, Russia, Denmark, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea have confirmed their participation.
It is worth mentioning that the organisers will also invite hundreds of supermarkets, retailers, department stores and other chain companies to attend the event. The precise targeting of business demand and sourcing intentions once again demonstrates the core value of SIAL as a major global platform and China as a key market.
SIAL China South is organised by the COMEXPOSIUM Group. As one of the world’s leading event organizers, Comexposium hosts more than 135 events across many different sectors globally. Among them, SIAL Paris has a history of more than 50 years and is currently the largest food exhibition in the world.
